The iron jungle
Every gym has equipment.
Very few become part of a community's history.
For a quarter of a century, the Iron Jungle was one of those places for Paso Robles.
Thousands of athletes trained here. Powerlifters trained for world records. Body builders earned their pro cards. Friendships were built. Goals were achieved. Pounds where shed and muscles built. Lifelong fitness journeys started here. For many of us, the Iron Jungle wasn't just a gym, it was a big part of our lives.
Over the years, the gym welcomed everyone from first-time members to competitive athletes. Members eventually brought their own sons and daughters to the same gym where they had trained when they themselves were young.
Like many small businesses, the Iron Jungle had its ups and downs, and faced challenges. In 2026, the gym closed its doors under financial pressure, leaving a void in our community.
Ironworks Gym was created with deep respect for what came before.
As you browse the photographs on this page, you'll see the people who made this place special over the years. This history belongs to the community as much as it belongs to the building.
We're grateful for the legacy that was built here.
Our hope is that, years from now, today's members will look back on Ironworks Gym with the same sense of pride and appreciation.
Here's to the next chapter.
